Military Family Resources
Woodridge Local School District welcomes and supports families with ties to the United States Military. We are dedicated to aiding our military families by initiating contact with a welcome letter upon enrollment, which identifies our military youth liaison, Ginger Rickenbacher, and also by using this web page as an additional resource to our military connected students.
Woodridge prioritizes occasions to honor Veterans and communicate opportunities for military awareness. We participate in district wide recognition of military families and have special programming and lessons at the classroom level to bring awareness and promote military service and patriotism throughout the school year.
Dear Woodridge Military Families,
I am writing to introduce myself as the school military-connected Youth Liaison. I am committed to supporting military families and military-connected youth. Resources that may be of use are also included on the Woodridge website under the Military tab. We realize that military families and students may have unique challenges and Woodridge is dedicated to providing positive support in any way that we can. We look forward to working with you as the school year progresses. We would also appreciate any input or feedback you have which would assist us in better serving our Military families. Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Did you know....April is the Month of the Military Child? In April, all buildings:
- Include a daily military fact during announcements
- Create a Military Recognition Wall-any student can submit a name for the wall!
- Encourage students to write a letter to an active, retired or reserve military member

The MIC3 Parent Guide explains the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children, which helps ease school transitions for military families regarding enrollment, placement, and graduation. The guide details how to handle records, immunization waivers, and course continuity to ensure fair treatment across state lines during PCS moves.
