College Credit Plus (CCP)
The College Credit Plus Program provides students grades 7-12 the opportunity to take classes and earn college credit at eligible post- secondary institutions. These institutions include community colleges, universities and many private colleges and universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wider variety of options to high school students. CCP Overview
A College Credit Plus representative from the University of Akron and Kent State University will be presenting CCP program information and admissions requirements specific to their university on January 22, 2026 from 5:30-6:30 pm in the HS Auditeria. Families considering CCP are highly encouraged to attend.
If your child is interested in participating in this program, the Intent to Participate Form must be submitted to the guidance office by the April 1st deadline. (see PDF link to this form below) or click the CCP Intent to Participate link below to submit online. This form is available in the Guidance office and can be found on our website. Additionally, students must apply to the university of their choice. It is very important to adhere to the individual university requirements and deadlines when applying for the College Credit Plus program.

Appling for College Credit Plus
1. Complete: College Credit Plus Intent to Participate form (must be paper copy available in Counseling Department) Due by April 1
2. Apply to the College(s)/Universities of your choice (see below for steps)
3. Request your transcript to be sent to the college(s)/universities through Parchment
4. Submit the additional form pertaining to that college/university

| 1. Submit online application (only for NEW CCP student to KSU). **Do NOT use your school email address on your application. Use a personal email address. |

| 2. Complete the CCP Permission Form. CCP Permission Form is 100% electronic and completed through Dynamic Forms. Kent is no longer accepting non-electronic forms. Students will click the link provided in the application portal, create a Dynamic Forms account and be able to fill it out. It will require students to input their parent/guardian’s email address. The parent/guardian will then be sent the link to complete their portion of the form after they too set up a Dynamic Forms account. For additional detailed instructions, Kent state permission! |

| 3. Complete orientation * If you applied to a regional campus, please contact the CCP Office at the campus which you plan to enroll in coursework for their orientation information. * Before you start on your Kent State journey, you must attend a mandatory CCP orientation. Once admitted to CCP be sure to check your Kent State email account for important information regarding orientation. |

| 2. Complete the Signature Page and Permission Slip *Signatures are required by: the student, the parent/guardian, and the school counselor |
| 3. Submit an official school transcript through Parchment * For applicants in the 7th grade, the transcript should include 6th and 5th grades * For applicants in the 8th grade, transcripts should include 7th and 6th grades |

4. Submit ACT and/or SAT test score results (check to make sure they are on your transcript by viewing your transcript in Parchment) * Testing must be completed prior to the application. |
| *The application deadline to begin in the summer (May/June) or the fall semester (August) is Apr. 15. To begin in the spring semester (January) the deadline is Oct. 15. |
| 1. Apply for admission- * Compete the ‘College Credit Plus’ student application online. |
| 2. Submit your transcript through Parchment |
| 3. Complete the Mature Student Questionnaire and Permission Slip. |
| 4. Placement Assessment * Provide your ACT scores (if you’ve taken the test within the last two years). Just check to make sure that these are on your transcript before ordering your transcript. * If you haven’t yet taken the ACT test, the Stark State code is 3345. * Take the Accuplacer at Stark State or if you have taken it in the past 2 years at another college or university have the results sent to the Admissions Office. |
