Woodridge Celebrates Farm to School Month with Fresh, Local Foods

Exciting things are growing at Woodridge Elementary! With support from Fork Tower expert Rai Presto, students have begun planting lettuce that will eventually be served in school lunches. This hands-on experience connects students with how food grows and brings fresh ingredients into their meals.

Students also recently enjoyed a Local Yogurt Parfait featuring Snowville Creamery yogurt and Stutzman Farms granola. The breakfast offered a high-protein, lower-sugar option filled with local flavor.

October is Farm to School Month, and Woodridge is celebrating by connecting students with fresh, local foods and the farmers and producers behind them. Watch for additional local ingredients appearing in student meals across the district!

Thank you to our nutrition staff and local partners for helping nourish our students and support learning through food.
